Archive One Policy is an archiving, retention and retrieval
management application designed to extract email from Microsoft
Exchange mailboxes and PST files. It is designed for
organizations that need a robust system that helps meet company needs for
mailbox size management and email retention by individual user, by
specific project and by team.
Archive One Policy will help with:
- Enforcing company email control, archive, retention, compliance and retrieval
requirements.
- Ensuring the company email information store is indexed,
archived and stored effectively.
- Improving the Exchange email server performance by ensuring only the
optimum levels of messages are held on the Exchange server.
-
Content specific archiving. Option to specify
what to archive by content, and select a (common) repository where
those with rights can access archive. Useful for client services
organizations e.g. law firms, departmental projects etc.
-
'Drag and Drop' archiving to accommodate emails
that users want to archive immediately, or which may be exceptions
to the central archiving rule-set.
- Reducing legal risks by retaining and recovering copies of
e-mails.
- Providing a flexible and adaptable email archiving structure, economical and scalable from
tens to thousands of users.
- User level search and retrieval of archived email messages
increasing
productivity.
-
Choice of Outlook Client or Outlook Web Access
retrieval from the archive; either option provides equal archiving
functionality.
-
Multiple repositories with independent
retention periods. For example, companies can archive finance
e-mails/mailboxes on a daily basis and retain for seven years,
archive manufacturing e-mails/mailboxes weekly and retain for 20
years and archive HR e-mails/mailboxes every other day and retain
for three years.
-
Support for laptop users. Sales and other
on-the-road users can access their archived e-mail even when not
connected to the archive system.
-
PST archiving option. Discovers and archives
all PSTs known to Outlook mailboxes, local, central and on
laptops.
-
Fast, user-level search and retrieval. The
interface significantly reduces time of manual searches and an
administrator does not need to be involved in search for archived
email.
-
Fast installation, easy to manage. Step by step
install and easy to use GUI.
-
Integrates with leading storage management
software. Archives to a variety of near-line or offline storage
media as appropriate, either directly or through storage
management software applications such as HP OpenView Storage Data
Protector, CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup and QStar HSM.
-
Efficient use of storage. Stores archives in
standard compressed format and restores messages to original
status without intervention, for efficient use of storage.

Mailboxes.

Explorer’s “custom search providers” to pass search queries directly to Archive One and
display returned results, making it fast and easy to connect to archived email data;
